When City meets Town! (PART 1)

Sports persons have a very strong ego. City people have it too. They never say it out, but they all have it all the same!
Being chess players (this is the only field I know), we acquire by the habitual actions of the so-called "elite" company we get, some interesting peculiar character traits which can only be seen among chess circles.

"Thanneer Panthal", The Water Depots

Hi all...!!

Hope you all doing fine;)

Some days ago there was a news in the ruling party's channel Jaya Tv about combating the heat stress this summer. I came across an usual announcement from our Honourable Chief Minister. The announcement is to their party's worksmen and followers to establish "Thanneer Panthal"(i will call it as water depots) in order to combat the heat wave in the upcoming summer season (its already here :-( though). And immediately I thought that this announcement is just an announcement and has nothing to do with. But after two to three days, I came across many such 'water depots' and there were party men sitting within those newly installed stalls. The main aim of these water depots is to render not only water for free to all the people but also some other natural coolant like watermelons, etc.,.

WHAT I SEE FROM THIS??

The newly formed Government has a fire and desire in itself to rule the Tamil Nadu with all its power like an athlete who uses all his power to win the race with no second thoughts than winning it. Like wise our government also has the tendency to do so. But the upcoming power crisis also adds for an big minus against the government. It also look for the necessary steps to overcome the power crisis because its the mother and backbone of any electrical and electronic components in modern days world. The opening of kudankulam nuclear power plant problem also has a close relationship with this crisis, as the timed opening of it in November might have been a good step towards this. Its been a high time that the power plant be at operation soon with all its necessary precautions and steps for its well being factor. Also i came across an article that Government is planning some nice development plans along the kudankulam area. I see this step as the action plan to bring the people closer to the government.
Why i'm talking of this power crisis suddenly after i started with the 'water depots' ... ?

The reason is even solving the power crisis would be a nice and awful step towards combating Heat Stress and Disobedient Summer...

Lets hope for the best to take place ;)

see y'all :-):

Brain Drain!

There's a lot of talk, only sometimes, about a phenomenon called 'BRAIN DRAIN'. I think it's simply the migration of Indian students to foreign countries and the problem faced by India due to the same. The problem cited by the Indian government is that there is a lot of money, in the order of crores, lost due to this process. This is what we call the Brain Drain. The loss is the amount of money spent in training these students in technical fields in India. I don't know how many people are aware of this, but I came to know of this pretty recently and this irked my mind quite a bit!
Everything has two sides, and this time - the government and the students!

It's always easy to say the wrong things, so I will start with that. According to Mr.Ramesh, IITs are not world-class. True. Think about other colleges then. Come to Tamil Nadu, or any state for that matter; you can find college names which can't be spelled correctly even in Latin. If instis like Anna University cannot be maintained high class by the so-called philanthropic and not-needed-to-mention rich Government, how can we expect students in other top colleges to REMAIN in TN or even India, after studying?
Some students are passionate about MS and research. I don't know why but MS is always antonymous with India. There's no MS in India. I have no idea why.

There are a lot of B-Schools in India, not many come to the top 100 in the world. We need at least a decent number keeping the Under Graduate population in mind. Not just a NUMBER! So... MBA - outside India.
There's always GATE for M.Tech in India. Somehow, M.Tech is always synonymous with 'teaching'. I may be wrong, but ... ask the students! :) Also, the fact that is always sidelined is that, M.Tech is not a specialization! Also, not many opportunities available IMMEDIATELY after M.Tech. Reasons enough for not many passionate M.Teching! "Students are intelligent!"
I really wonder if the bureaucrats ("the men who matter") have ever visited foreign Universities. I am sure they travel abroad, but Universities? I don't think so. Their children do study outside (I am sure they don't slog it out in Anna!), but they are irrelevant here. IITs, as far as infrastructure, facilities, and more importantly, ATMOSPHERE is concerned, DOESN'T even need to be commented! (I have been to IIT-K and I got to say, I love SRM and VIT more!)
I wish politicians wore formal shirts and full trousers and gave everything a thought, with laptops and internet connectivity!
"Desire is the root cause of misery"

Okay, let's come to the students. It's evident that students want to make money. But no one really WANTS to go abroad. It's just that we are NEEDED to go abroad due to lack of 'chances' here. Vitamin-M apart, if India is really good, no one will go out!
If India has the BALLS (if you don't understand what balls are, mail me :D) to remove / limit reservation to agreeable levels, India will definitely improve. Mr.Ambedkar was right.... Right when he lived. We have not moved with the times. And that's the reason why India is still what it is!
"This is the main main reason for the migration!"
Look at the number of "affected people" in the US, that's why there's a lot of Classical Music in Cleveland and Ohio! You fools, they would have been here if not for the reservations! Don't put reservation in anything and everything. College admissions, Cricket team, Jobs, PG Studies, Entrance exams, everything! No exception, but for public transport (Thank God!).
If you want to give education for all, spare a thought for the Arts Colleges too! Why only Engineering and Medicine? If there's an answer for this question, reservation MAY be justified to a little extent. Only little! I don't think there's any counselling for Arts, Science, Humanities and Hotel Management colleges!

"Every living thing!"

There's another thing to consider. It is indeed true that many foreign students (NRIs are negligible) who come to India for academic purposes. However, it does not contribute to the overall globalization of our nation. The magnitude of Brain Drain is much large compared to incoming students of this sort.

On the whole, students can of course be criticized a little bit for ambitiously going abroad after studying, without thinking about the motherland. On the other hand, the harsh reality is that most of these students have no option but to go out!
The Government is fully responsible for this. There's nothing wrong in stating the truth. Upper caste people have already had enough tough times to cope with here. There are limits to endurance too. Moving out of India is the best option. After some decades, there will be very few left here. US or UK may well be our addresses. It's not all that smooth anywhere. Yes. d'accord! It's not going to be easy out there too. But it's definitely NOT WORTH being here for quality education, in this wretched system!
Nowadays, it's getting worse. There are talks about reservations right from LKG in all government and affiliated schools. If this is the case, we are not sending healthy signals to the kids. Also to the "deprived" open competition...
"Long live India"

Don't read this post again. Book your flights! :)

2012 - and beyond!

I don't understand the technical terms used by various people in all those so-called Geographic summits that happen around the world. But these things always intrigued me...
"When I was in school, I learnt that there were four seasons - Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. I have lived for 21 years so far; and I have seen just two - Summer and Winter.
Living in Chennai now, I mostly see ONE monotonous season all over the year!"

When our parents studied also, there was not much electricity for 24 hours. They did not have any difficulty in studying because the earth was not this hot those days! I still remember, in the last decade, whenever power went off, I used to hang out just outside my house with friends and talk and talk. It was not that tough.
Now - PLUS humidity, MINUS friends / neighbours!

"I still see four seasons in other continents. The US has many coloured leaves in different seasons. Why not here?"

"My city looks so picturesque when it rains. Yes... When it rains! When it rains?"

"Hot climate is called Summer. What is boiling climate called?"

"It's okay if there's no electricity in cold places. But Chennai has frequent power cuts nowadays! What will free laptops produce when there's no electricity? Provoke people to use stand-by modes which harm the environment all the more!"

"Water is a natural resource, so is air. We pay for water! Soil too; but it's being stolen from the river-beds!"

"I used to get fresh air at 6AM in the mornings; I USED TO!"

" Water was never so salty as it is now, or horrible, for that matter. Where did all the 'nice' water go?"

Take care of our planet!
Thinking about the FOUR seasons...

The cost of Oxygen!! Very interesting!!!

In one day a human being breathes oxygen equivalent to 3 cylinders.

Each oxygen cylinder on an average costs Rs.700/-, without subsidy.

So, in a day one uses Oxygen worth Rs. 2,100/- and for a full year it is Rs. 7,66,500/-. And, if we consider an average life span of 65 years; the costs of oxygen we use become a staggering sum of Rs. 500,00,000/- = Rs. 50 million. All this oxygen is derived free of cost from the surrounding trees.

Very few people look at trees as a RESOURCE.

Is 2012 the real end of our World...???

Some time ago, i got interested in the end of the world. Er, what i mean to say is "I wanted to know what exactly the hoax spread during my school times that 2012 would be our last year on earth". Really widespread that even NASA released some press releases that 2012 is not the end of the year. Some media people even preached that 2012 the end of the world is little bit late and is postponed towards the end of the 21st century and so on., many stories and silly humors, etc etc etc., . So I was really interested in knowing what these things are and went to one of my friend's home where I can browse about these things through the internet. At that time i was aw-struck to read from a website that stated 'periodically some angels of God came to Earth to visit us and make the things in the Earth CLEAN. They wander in some planets which are not under any solar system control. they were called "Annunakis"[link here] (about which you can even search in WIKIPEDIA and also Google it)'. After this I just went to search about other possibilities Earth could be destroyed or how end of the Earth is predicted like that and just went on....

Now come back from the past. that happened really 4 years before. Today when i was just skimming the newspaper(for sure i didn't read the paper) in the morning. suddenly i saw this article[link here]. I was just aw-struck to read this article that stated "Nomad Planets Wandering In Milky Way"(our Galaxy). Why? Just because the article which i had studied about the "Annunakis" flashed in my mind. I really got terrified to know about this. and many connections i could make. Some of them are : 1. Annunakis traveled in the wandering planets which the researchers have found now that many wandering planets are there in our Galaxy system. 2.What i really thought after getting to know about this was, "those are just a HOAX". but now i really felt that there may be some possibility of such a planet in existence with Annunakis in it.(purely its my thinking about the existence). After all these cross - thoughts, I just started to google about this. but now there are many websites illustrating these things even some hosted animation too. Right now i really think very weird about this. But i too have a doubt, "will the Earth would END at 21-12-2012..??".
